Astern Group Ltd is a new operation in Hamilton but our management team are experienced in the construction industry. Company directors, Brian, Tony and Hugh have brought together their skills and experience in roofing services, building services and property consultancy/asset management, with a growing client base across the Waikato and wider North Island.
Tony Andrews – Building Services Manager
Tony is a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) with extensive building experience across commercial, industrial and residential properties. Tony adds to Astern’s specialist services as he is a qualified asbestos surveyor.

Brian Milne – Roofing & Drone Services Manager
Brian has worked in the roofing industry for the last 20 years, covering commercial, industrial and residential roofs, rodent fencing, bird proofing, tanking and waterproofing. He is a technically savvy tradesman with exceptional problem-solving capabilities. Brian is a licensed drone operator and utilises leading-edge technology, through the use of drones for asset inspection and reporting, assisting clients to get a better understanding of their roof and associated waterproofing issues.

Hugh Wakelin – Advisory & Corporate Services
Hugh’s background is in property consultancy and corporate property management and valuation. He has worked with large corporate organisations and government agencies with the acquisition, disposal, management and associated property projects. Hugh is able to help you get the most out of your building asset/s to ensure they are fit for purpose and value is maximised.
